Tacos El Matador in Kansas City, KS - Authentic Mexican Tacos and Burritos

Compared to other locations, tacos are cheaper here which is nice. I liked the crispy tripas. Definitely crispy, but a little on the salty side, other than that, it was good. Service is good. I asked for the spiciest sauce and they did give me that. But I was hoping they'd give me the other sauces too, my fault for not clarifying. The gordita was okay.

Estos tacos están matadores! These are some killer tacos! I consider myself a taco connoisseur, I’ve tried tacos in Mexico City, Monterrey, Las Vegas and New York. These tacos are among the most delicious ones I’ve tried. The meat is delicious and while the taco is not dripping grease it’s still very flavorful. I asked for them to grill my onions which they did and that gave the tacos a very MEXICO City street like flavor. I gave it 4 stars as the tortilla is the traditional white corn as opposed to yellow, which is widely used in the streets of Mexico in taco stands. The chips tasted stale and it took a while to get our food. However you don’t go to a taco place to get chips and salsa but to get tacos so I can easily overlook the chips. I had a carne asada taco, a chorizo and a pastor, they were all delicious. The salsas were ok, not great and that is another area in which they could improve. Overall these are amongst the best tacos in KC and i will definitely be coming back for more! I only wish this restaurant was in a better part of town as I would not venture to come eat here after dark.

Excellent, authentic, and inexpensive tacos! Highly recommend. Definitely a hole in the wall type place but if you like authentic tacos then you know that's a good thing. Pastor were some of the best I've had and asada was very good also!

Love the al Pastor tacos! The meat is very tender. The salsa is great too. Lime game is weak, though so ask for extra if you like a lot of lime like me. My friend said the fish taco was amazing. He's gotten it several times now. Booth seats are all a little wonky but it just adds to the ambiance. Small place but definitely worth a try.

Best Taco's de tripa in KANSAS CITY! I have been coming here since 2013 and it has been my go to for tacos when I'm in Kansas City Kansas.

Friendly service food was really good! Hubby had fried ground beef tacos and I had a Barbacoa Quesuldilla

The food was delicious and authentic. Some of the best tacos de carnitas I've eaten outside oh México and they have Coke made with REAL SUGAR (like in México)!

No frills interior, the parking lot is a bit torn up, and so are the seat cushions. Absolutely awesome tacos! I keep coming back here. The people that work there are great. Everyone had a mask on.
